G Gathering Mayor’s Youth Day

Mayor’s Youth Day

Chesapeake Sheriff's Office participates in the annual Mayor's Youth Day- a  funfilled event in which local high school students shadow representatives from the city's various departments. The goal is to educate students  concerning careers in public service. Five students were welcomed as honorary members of the Sheriff's Office for the day. Paired up with the Assistant Director of Training, the Civil Enforcement Lieutenant, the Booking Lieutenant, the Lieutenant of Support Services and the Courts Commander, the students toured the jail before experiencing  an average day on the job. Afterwards, Sheriff Jim O'Sullivan presented each student with a certificate of participation, and then treated them to  lunch.
